Narrative:
Good weather around phl except for one small cell 3 miles outside the FAF for runway 27R. We asked for a vector to final to avoid the cell; but were told 'not if you want to land at philly'. The controller advised everyone else was going through the cell. We followed her vector into the cell; against my better judgment. While in the cell we received a windshear alert with loss in excess of 40 KTS of airspeed and initiated a go around. After recovery; the controller began vectoring us back around into the same cell. She made no report of the event to following flights. Other flights asked about the event; but she did not once notify them. She then told us she was vectoring us to our alternate when we declined being vectored back into a microburst event. The controller's actions were a willful and reckless endangerment of thousands of lives in the 10 minutes we were on her frequency. She was only interested in moving traffic at total disregard for any safety. This controller is unsafe; in addition to unprofessional.

Title: An air carrier Captain took umbrage at an Approach Controller's refusal to facilitate avoidance of a thunderstorm cell in the arrival routing to PHL. A windshear warning and escape maneuver from within the cell resulted.
