Narrative:

Autopilot trim runaway caused me to shoot through my assigned altitude of 1;800 MSL. I was on the localizer when the trim ran from altitude to approach [and] dropped the nose. I turned the autopilot off and started to climb back up from 1;500 MSL to 1;800 MSL when ATC advised me of the altitude deviation. I corrected it and finished the ILS 24 approach. At the time I was in VFR conditions and had a visual on the runway.
