Narrative:

After departing and in the initial climb; the right engine started to have a series of compressor stalls. During recovery; a flap speed might have been exceeded. The compressor stalls started shortly after power reduction from takeoff power to climb power. With further power reductions the stalls ceased and engine ran normally. All engine readings were normal and decided to keep the engine running and divert. Landed overweight at approximately 214;000 pounds. Landing and rollout were normal. Arff crew reported no abnormalities visible from the right engine. Taxied and parked at gate to deplane passengers.
