Narrative:
I contacted ground to get taxi instructions to go back to the ramp. I was cleared to taxi via several taxiways and to cross runway xx to the ramp. As I crossed runway xx there was landing traffic and I had to apply full brakes not to run into the navajo. When I later listened to the ATC recordings; I was told by the ground controller to hold my position. This transmission was partially blocked and I did not hear it in the airplane and I did not confirm it. After the incident ATC asked me to continue to taxi to the ramp.

Title: A blocked hold short transmission from Ground Control failed to alert the reporter that his clearance to the ramp had been restricted. An emergency stop as the landing aircraft passed in front of his aircraft resulted.
