Narrative:
While on vacation; I was advised that flight operations management had required pilots to complete the first phase of our merger integration training in just a few days. I attempted to complete the training at home on the company internet site as directed. The first phase loaded correctly; the second did not. I called the help line and after 45 minutes; did get it to load and 'completed' the training.while trying to get the program to load; the 'helper' offered to just sign me off with out completing the training if we couldn't get it to work. This would be fraud. The training can be completed even if you answer every question wrong. Each question is repeated over and over until you answer correctly. I cannot believe after 16 years as a professional pilot that this training is sufficient; legal; or endorsed; it's simply unsafe and inadequate.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A pilot for an air carrier undergoing a merger expressed concerns about the integrity of the computer based training intended to integrate flight crew SOPs. Of particular concern was the willingness of IT personnel to simply 'sign off' the training as completed rather than do whatever would be necessary to make the training module functional for the pilot. He also noted that every question could be simply re-answered until the correct answer is selected; never providing ameliorative training to insure the subject was understood by the testee.
