Narrative:
We were in cruise at FL330 with the number two engine bleed deferred when we heard a sudden 'cork popping' sound followed by an increasing rushing air sound. No new EICAS messages appeared but we noticed the cabin altitude climbing at 700 FPM and increasing. We donned oxygen masks and initiated an emergency descent. The cabin climb rate peaked at 2;000 FPM+. We leveled at 10;000 MSL. The max cabin altitude reached was approximately 8;300. We then diverted to a nearby airport for a precautionary landing.after landing a contract mechanic noted a mechanical failure in ducting near pack two.
