Narrative:

We departed two hours late. Passing FL330 we had a cabin altitude warning horn and began an emergency descent. After diverting to a nearby airport we were notified by dispatch that an alternate had been required due to a weather change minutes before we finally departed. When an aircraft is significantly late; an update of the weather conditions through ACARS or dispatch as close to the actual departure time would ensure that you have appropriate alternate(s) and/or gas if changes are required.
