Narrative:
Clt airport on the north ramp; specifically; has an excessive amount of FOD [foreign object debris] mainly due to the city's failure on two fronts. Trash is collected in bins that are emptied daily; but not on weekends. This causes trash to pile up and spill over contaminating the ramp. Secondarily; they don't provide covers for the trash bins. Our airline also fails to police the gate areas for trash which results in tons of FOD migrating from our ramp to the adjacent runway and its associated taxiways. I always report FOD immediately to ramp or ground control as required; but nothing is done (a city vehicle might come and remove a water bottle; but that is one of ten blowing across the taxiway!) after seeing a dramatic increase in FOD over the last two months; I am convinced that the city and the airlines are doing nothing to solve the problem.the city needs to set up a proper program for managing FOD. Please help in any way that you can.
