Narrative:
On top of 7000' unlimited visibility, transponder reported only intermittent signal. Believe approach control lost radar contact and vectored another aircraft into collision course. However, after incident asked controller if he had radar contact and he replied affirmative.

Narrative: ON TOP OF 7000' UNLIMITED VISIBILITY, TRANSPONDER RPTED ONLY INTERMITTENT SIGNAL. BELIEVE APCH CTL LOST RADAR CONTACT AND VECTORED ANOTHER ACFT INTO COLLISION COURSE. HOWEVER, AFTER INCIDENT ASKED CTLR IF HE HAD RADAR CONTACT AND HE REPLIED AFFIRMATIVE.
