Narrative:
Climbing from our assigned altitude of FL270 to FL280; we got a TCAS RA to monitor vertical speed. We disconnected the autopilot and complied with the RA. A 500 FPM rate of climb was in the green arc on the vsi. The traffic was 1;000 ft above our assigned altitude on the display. Before the event; we were climbing at 1;000 FPM. There was no traffic conflict. I don't know why we got the RA. We got the clear of conflict message and continued to destination.
