Narrative:

Approach control advised us about 5 minutes before the event that they had several reports from other aircraft of laser activity. I was informed after contacting ATC that the aircraft behind us was also affected. While on base to final; we were tracked by a green laser for approximately 45 seconds [and] it continued to follow us in our turn. ATC gave us a number to call after landing. Both the captain and I experienced temporary blindness from the laser. Captain mentioned on the ground he still had spots in his right eye. The duty flight manager removed us from trip and I was contact by an FAA doctor in the morning. He said he wanted us to e-mail him the results of an eye examination; which I have scheduled. I also received a call from a company doctor recommending an eye exam. I explained I did not seem to have any lasting effects from the event. The event happened 10 miles northeast of phl.
