Anomaly | Deviation - Procedural Clearance Ground Incursion Runway |
Narrative:
I was taxiing from the northwest [northeast] ramp area and the signs were very confusing. As a result; I mistakenly taxied across the hold short bars for runway 26 and then proceeded onto taxiway a; as I had been cleared. I highly recommend that better signage for taxiway a be placed in this area. This area is indeed marked as a hotspot on the airport diagram; and I can see why.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: C172 pilot reports crossing the hold bars for Runway 26 at DXR after being cleared to taxi via A from the northeast ramp to Runway 8. A lack of signage and no mention of an alternate route around the hold bars were cited as factors in this runway incursion.
