Narrative:
Aircraft had the manifold problem september 2011; in ZZZ at the air carrier's hub and repair was deferred and company then [still] sent the aircraft on a flight with a known serious problem. Aircraft had to make an emergency landing where it sat for eight hours. Company air carrier did not repair aircraft in ZZZ because they wanted to save money and have been skipping maintenance to save money.

Title: An Air Carrier Ground Crew reports about a company DC-10 aircraft released for service with a known maintenance problem three days prior to an engine in-flight shutdown.
Narrative: Aircraft had the manifold problem September 2011; in ZZZ at the Air Carrier's hub and repair was deferred and company then [still] sent the aircraft on a flight with a known serious problem.
