Narrative:
During maintenance walkaround at cle ramp, it was discovered that we had some wingtip damage. They advised that it was caused by a ground service vehicle. Static wicks were knocked off and there were 2 scratches on the wingtip itself. It has yet to be determined if this incident occurred at cle or at our originating station of mco. It is a bad situation to have someone damage an aircraft and walk off and not tell anyone. This problem occurs a lot more than it should. It is caused by airlines contracting out ramp service who, in turn, hire minimum qualified people at minimum wages, and the FAA approving this operation.
