Narrative:
At 1300 ft MSL on short final to runway xxr after selecting flaps 25 we got a le assym EICAS and caution. After executing a GA and declaring an emergency we accomplished SOP's and emergency procedures in accordance with the fom and QRH. While reading the QRH the procedure said to go to step 15 for flaps 20; but our book did not have a step 15. A little disconcerting at night over water on a moonless night considering we haven't received any practical training in the use of our new procedures and manual.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B767-300 EICAS and CAUTION alerted LE ASSYM on short final so a go around was executed; an emergency declared; the QRH procedure accomplished and a safe landing followed. The new QRH checklist had an error in it.
