Narrative:
We taxied out to runway 16 [and] as we neared the departure end we were given takeoff clearance of climb to the assigned altitude and turn left to 260. We had not completed the takeoff checklist yet so we asked for more time. When we were ready to go we called back and were told that they had to coordinate with center for a release time. ATC called back and we were given a release time of about 9 minutes. After about 9 minutes we were released with the same instructions; climb to assigned altitude and left turn to 260. As the pilot flying when I started the turn I asked the pm if it was left to 260 and he said yes. I was in the turn and ATC called and gave us a right turn to 180; then an immediate right turn to 180. There was no conflict that we were aware of; and nothing showed up near us on TCAS. I believe we were given a takeoff clearance to turn left to 260; when I asked the pm he believed the same thing.
