Narrative:

Engine change on medium large transport. The manual says to not exceed 2300 pounds on rear of engine sling, and 3000 pounds on front of engine sling. The slings 'bootstrap' to the wing and a notice says severe damage may occur if this in fact is not observed. We don't have scales for our medium large transport engine slings. I was pressured to 'buy off' the installation in order to keep schedule.

Title: ACR MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR SIGNED OFF ENGINE CHANGE THAT WAS COMPLETED WITHOUT COMPLYING WITH FEDERAL AVIATION REG.

Narrative: ENG CHANGE ON MLG. THE MANUAL SAYS TO NOT EXCEED 2300 POUNDS ON REAR OF ENG SLING, AND 3000 POUNDS ON FRONT OF ENG SLING.
