Narrative:

The computer messaging tool had issues again. For some reason it seem to hang frequently; by either refusing to archive for almost a minute after the archive button is selected; or it holding new messages for a few minutes; just to release them all at once. In one instance at least 30 messages of various types all came in at once. My buttons went from blue (which means empty) to red (more than 10 messages); we skipped the yellow altogether. Not sure how long it had been holding the other messages; but one message was at least a 3 minutes delayed. Luckily it wasn't a situation in which the captain needed immediate assistance. I'm unsure if there was a delay in my outbound messaging also.
