Narrative:

Tried to retrieve clearance on pre departure clearance; but did not work. Called clearance [delivery] and wrote down clearance. PIC reviewed the clearance; wrote it down; and verified. The autopilot was not working. [We] changed to north side of airport to takeoff [and] received clearance to takeoff on [runway] 24L. On climb out; ATC asked which departure we were on and we replied GMN4. ATC wanted us on costa 2. Costa 2 is an RNAV departure which requires verification from tower for the first point. We were only 'cleared for takeoff on 24L.' ATC then directed a turn to join the GMN4 departure per normal departure instructions.
