Narrative:
Upon landing gear extension the main gear indicated down; with two green. However; the nose gear showed red unsafe and the amber lights in the gear handle remained illuminated. All amber gear door lights were out. We executed a go around after notifying phl tower we had the improper indication. We completed the emergency checklist for the gear unsafe indication. The alternate indication system showed all three gear were down. We discussed the problem with maintenance and we agreed to proceed with a landing at our destination. The tower had advised the nose gear appeared down during the go around. We briefed the flight attendant and made an announcement to the passengers; advising them the landing would be normal but the trucks would be following us. We landed rolled onto an exit where (with towers approval) we shut down and engaged the nose gear lock before taxiing to the gate. We had 33 souls on board.
