Narrative:
Pulled up numbers for bos runway 27 departure. Data returned was for flaps 15; bleeds off takeoff. Referenced the flight manual for a bleeds off takeoff. The procedure does not exist anymore. We ran the checklist for an 'APU to packs' takeoff. The procedure includes turning off the engine bleeds; but never has us open the APU bleed air valve. We did open the APU bleed valve for takeoff; and closed it after reopening the engine bleeds; prior to turning off the APU; even though it is not in the procedure. If run according to the checklist; however; the aircraft will takeoff and climb out without actually providing air conditioning or pressurization.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B757-200 air carrier pilot reported the checklist procedure for a bleeds off takeoff does not call for opening the APU bleed; which would result in an unpressurized and un-airconditioned operation.
