Narrative:
I was assigned to meet aircraft and performed a hot tire pressure check. Upon meeting the crew; they described to me about a mechanical issue with the forward entry door which closed rapidly with no snubbing action or no dampening. After I checked the door; the forward snubber was not operating as described in the aircraft maintenance manual's (amm) description and operation [section]. I performed the removal and installation procedure as described in the amm. I performed operational check of the snubber; the door operated normally and the door faired properly per amm. Upon reviewing the amm after installation instructions; I realized I misinterpreted the installation instructions.
