Narrative:
I was the pilot not flying during this event. We landed uneventfully on the runway following a visual approach. After landing we were instructed by tower to turn right on taxiway juliet and contact ground. As instructed; we cleared at juliet and contacted ground; whom I notified that we were going to the FBO. Ground then instructed us to 'taxi via bravo; runway 9-er; foxtrot to FBO'. We quickly reviewed the taxi diagram to confirm our taxi route; and began our taxi to the FBO. After turning left on runway 9; and about halfway to taxiway F; I noticed a single engine piston aircraft turning short final to runway 27 directly in front of us; and said to the pilot flying 'do you see this guy turning final on us?' I believe the PIC/pilot flying noticed this aircraft at the same time. The PIC immediately increased thrust to increase our speed towards taxiway F and safety; and I contacted ground to advise them that there was an aircraft on short final; and that we were still on runway 9 as instructed. The aircraft on final to runway 27 initiated a go-around at about this time; and ground instructed us to taxi via foxtrot. We were not on tower frequency; so we don't know exactly when tower issued go-around instructions to the conflicting aircraft; or if that aircraft's pilot began their own go-around. After completing our post-flight; the PIC contacted tower; who conceded that they had made a mistake; and we had complied with our taxi instructions correctly. I think that our actions; specifically the pilot flying's acting to quickly move us towards foxtrot; would have cleared us before the other aircraft landed or hit us; but it was still a very uncomfortable situation. I will be a bit more reluctant to accept taxi instructions that include taxiing down active runways; unless there is no other choice. After reviewing the taxi diagram; there were several other paths to the FBO; just as timely; that would have kept us from taxiing down runway 9/27.
