Narrative:
Electric stabilizer trim fail. We completed the required checklists in the QRH; declared an emergency; utilized ATC to provide delay vectors so the checklists could be properly completed. All normal and non-normal checklists and procedures were completed; an overweight landing was executed without further event.

Title: A B737-800's Electric Horizontal Stabilizer Trim was inoperative after takeoff so an emergency was declared; the QRH procedure completed and the aircraft returned to the departure airport.
Narrative: Electric stabilizer trim fail. We completed the required checklists in the QRH; declared an emergency; utilized ATC to provide delay vectors so the checklists could be properly completed. All normal and non-normal checklists and procedures were completed; an overweight landing was executed without further event.
