Narrative:
On landing rollout [runway 28] I assumed control of the aircraft and we both heard tower direct us to exit at runway 20 (I could make it safely). I started to make the turn and immediately saw a light aircraft landing on runway 20. I immediately corrected the aircraft track back on runway 28 and immediately requested taxi clarification. It was a directive not to enter runway 20 (in broken english). Both of us where shaking about the possible outcome if we had made that turn. I made the next turn off and held short of runway 20 as directed by mmgl tower. While looking back at the contributing factors; I am convinced this incident was due to stress directly related to [company issues].
