Rejected takeoff due to nose wheel steering failure. On power up airplane veered sharply to the right. We did not get any malfunction notifications. We aborted the takeoff and safely returned to the gate.

Title: CRJ-200 Captain reported loss of nose wheel steering at beginning of takeoff roll. Takeoff was rejected and the aircraft returned to the gate.
