Narrative:

After landing [runways] 35L I was advised by tower to exit next taxiway and contact ground when clear. Unfamiliar with the airport configuration I cleared the runway and continued to taxi as I contacted ground. When ground replied I was advised to hold short of [runway] 17L safety zone I had already crossed into the safety zone as another aircraft was departing [runway] 35R. The other aircraft passed probably 75 ft overhead. I was then told to contact the tower and given the phone number. I called the tower and talked to the tower supervisor he was very polite and just advised me from now on to come to a complete stop before contacting ground and waiting for permission to taxi. I learned to stop and wait for ground to issue taxi instructions after clearing the runway.
