Narrative:
We had been cleared to taxi to runway 11L for takeoff from tus. As we approached runway 21 the captain and I checked for traffic and taxied across runway 21, as I thought we had been cleared. 2 aircraft were on final for runway 11L and there was no traffic for runway 21. Ground control advised us our crossing and active runway after we were clear of runway 21. Closer inspection of the communication page of tus showed a note concerning where runway 11L begins (at the intersection of taxiway 4, prior to runway 21). We contacted the tower and were cleared for a normal takeoff. Concerning to note on the beginning of runway 11L. This note should be surrounded by a black border with a bold type caution advisory. Also permanent signs or markings should be erected on taxiway a at tus to serve as a better warning of an active runway. Supplemental information from acn 99523: I did not see any sign indicating we should enter at T4. We may have missed it while doing the checklist.

Title: TAXIED ACROSS ACTIVE RWY WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 11L FOR TKOF FROM TUS. AS WE APCHED RWY 21 THE CAPT AND I CHKED FOR TFC AND TAXIED ACROSS RWY 21, AS I THOUGHT WE HAD BEEN CLRED. 2 ACFT WERE ON FINAL FOR RWY 11L AND THERE WAS NO TFC FOR RWY 21. GND CTL ADVISED US OUR XING AND ACTIVE RWY AFTER WE WERE CLR OF RWY 21. CLOSER INSPECTION OF THE COM PAGE OF TUS SHOWED A NOTE CONCERNING WHERE RWY 11L BEGINS (AT THE INTXN OF TXWY 4, PRIOR TO RWY 21). WE CONTACTED THE TWR AND WERE CLRED FOR A NORMAL TKOF. CONCERNING TO NOTE ON THE BEGINNING OF RWY 11L. THIS NOTE SHOULD BE SURROUNDED BY A BLACK BORDER WITH A BOLD TYPE CAUTION ADVISORY. ALSO PERMANENT SIGNS OR MARKINGS SHOULD BE ERECTED ON TXWY A AT TUS TO SERVE AS A BETTER WARNING OF AN ACTIVE RWY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 99523: I DID NOT SEE ANY SIGN INDICATING WE SHOULD ENTER AT T4. WE MAY HAVE MISSED IT WHILE DOING THE CHKLIST.
