Narrative:
We were operating a reposition flight for air carrier. We were about 20 NM west of boiler VOR on the 271 degree radial and climbing out at 5200 MSL en route to 10000 when an small aircraft appeared at our 11 O'clock position, going northeast. He was coming out of the sun, so that was the soonest I observed him. He appeared to be about 200' horizontal in front and 100' vertical below at about 5100' in level flight. We were not in radar contact yet although talking to chicago center on our IFR plan. It did not require any evasive action.
