Narrative:
Flight was inbound to phl on dupont arrival. I descended aircraft before it was 2 1/2 mi inside my sector. Aircraft descended faster than expected therefore conflicting with traffic holding 3 mi from my sector boundary. My poor judgement caused the error.

Title: OPERROR BY CTLR DESCENDING ACR TOO SOON AFTER ENTERING HIS SECTOR CAUSES LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION.
Narrative: FLT WAS INBND TO PHL ON DUPONT ARRIVAL. I DESCENDED ACFT BEFORE IT WAS 2 1/2 MI INSIDE MY SECTOR. ACFT DESCENDED FASTER THAN EXPECTED THEREFORE CONFLICTING WITH TFC HOLDING 3 MI FROM MY SECTOR BOUNDARY. MY POOR JUDGEMENT CAUSED THE ERROR.
