Narrative:

At the east side hangars at mitchell international my student requested from mke ground control and received taxi instructions. Instructions were routine, to 'taxi to runway 25R.' he taxied the airplane west, the northbound, then again wbound to the approach end of runway 19R. Not seeing any traffic, crossed 19R. He asked me if it was ok. As the instrument I said there is a hold short on the other side of 19R just short of 25R. As we crossed 19R I realized that there was no hold short line for runway 25R on the east side of the approach end of 25R. Hence, I turned the airplane sharply onto taxiway G which parallels 19R on the west side, crossed a hold short line there. Mke ground control: 'I won't say anything about it today, but you just crossed an active runway (25R). Pull off to the right to allow traffic to pass.' my student informed ground that we were ready for takeoff. The incident ended there. I realized too late that a hold short does not exist on taxiway F east of 25R. A warning sign at the hold short for 19R (east side) should also say, 'hold short for 25R.' this would prevent this error to pilots not familiar to the field. I did not request clarification from ground as to where we should wait.

Title: GA SMA INTRUDED ON ACTIVE RWY DURING TAXI.

Narrative: AT THE E SIDE HANGARS AT MITCHELL INTL MY STUDENT REQUESTED FROM MKE GND CTL AND RECEIVED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. INSTRUCTIONS WERE ROUTINE, TO 'TAXI TO RWY 25R.' HE TAXIED THE AIRPLANE W, THE NBND, THEN AGAIN WBOUND TO THE APCH END OF RWY 19R. NOT SEEING ANY TFC, CROSSED 19R. HE ASKED ME IF IT WAS OK. AS THE INSTR I SAID THERE IS A HOLD SHORT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF 19R JUST SHORT OF 25R. AS WE CROSSED 19R I REALIZED THAT THERE WAS NO HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 25R ON THE E SIDE OF THE APCH END OF 25R. HENCE, I TURNED THE AIRPLANE SHARPLY ONTO TXWY G WHICH PARALLELS 19R ON THE W SIDE, CROSSED A HOLD SHORT LINE THERE. MKE GND CTL: 'I WON'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT TODAY, BUT YOU JUST CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY (25R). PULL OFF TO THE RIGHT TO ALLOW TFC TO PASS.' MY STUDENT INFORMED GND THAT WE WERE READY FOR TKOF. THE INCIDENT ENDED THERE. I REALIZED TOO LATE THAT A HOLD SHORT DOES NOT EXIST ON TXWY F E OF 25R. A WARNING SIGN AT THE HOLD SHORT FOR 19R (E SIDE) SHOULD ALSO SAY, 'HOLD SHORT FOR 25R.' THIS WOULD PREVENT THIS ERROR TO PLTS NOT FAMILIAR TO THE FIELD. I DID NOT REQUEST CLARIFICATION FROM GND AS TO WHERE WE SHOULD WAIT.
