Narrative:
I extended the gear and performed my before landing checklist with normal indications (3 green; no red; no gear warning horn). I landed on the mains. As I went to lower the nose the nose continued down until it hit the pavement. I notified ATC and evacuated the passengers. Post flight inspection revealed that the nose gear had collapsed.
