Narrative:
I was acting as first officer on this flight. We were holding short of runway 4L at taxiway east. Ground gave us a clearance of 'cross 4L turn right on P.' as we began to move we checked both ends of the runway for traffic. I noticed an aircraft sitting in position for takeoff on 4L with all of its landing lights on. I told the captain an aircraft is in position and 'he isn't moving.' shortly thereafter, I looked his way again and he was rolling toward us. I called out, 'stop!', and the captain made an immediate stop. We were past the hold short line and our nose may have just been over the edge of the runway. The captain told me to verify our crossing clearance with tower before we moved any further, because ground was so busy. Tower wouldn't confirm or not, and angrily sent us back to ground. Ground gave us the same clearance as earlier, and no one seemed to notice what had just happened. We contacted tower holding short of 4R and tried to cross an active runway, but he became very abusive and made several rude remarks about our experience level at ewr.

Title: ACR WDB NEARLY TAXI INTO PATH OF GA LTT ON TKOF ROLL RESULTING IN CRITICAL CONFLICT GND.
Narrative: I WAS ACTING AS F/O ON THIS FLT. WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 4L AT TXWY E. GND GAVE US A CLRNC OF 'CROSS 4L TURN RIGHT ON P.' AS WE BEGAN TO MOVE WE CHKED BOTH ENDS OF THE RWY FOR TFC. I NOTICED AN ACFT SITTING IN POS FOR TKOF ON 4L WITH ALL OF ITS LNDG LIGHTS ON. I TOLD THE CAPT AN ACFT IS IN POS AND 'HE ISN'T MOVING.' SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I LOOKED HIS WAY AGAIN AND HE WAS ROLLING TOWARD US. I CALLED OUT, 'STOP!', AND THE CAPT MADE AN IMMEDIATE STOP. WE WERE PAST THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND OUR NOSE MAY HAVE JUST BEEN OVER THE EDGE OF THE RWY. THE CAPT TOLD ME TO VERIFY OUR XING CLRNC WITH TWR BEFORE WE MOVED ANY FURTHER, BECAUSE GND WAS SO BUSY. TWR WOULDN'T CONFIRM OR NOT, AND ANGRILY SENT US BACK TO GND. GND GAVE US THE SAME CLRNC AS EARLIER, AND NO ONE SEEMED TO NOTICE WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. WE CONTACTED TWR HOLDING SHORT OF 4R AND TRIED TO CROSS AN ACTIVE RWY, BUT HE BECAME VERY ABUSIVE AND MADE SEVERAL RUDE REMARKS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE LEVEL AT EWR.
