Narrative:
During the takeoff I noticed a right engine system fail message on the overhead annunciator panel while approaching 80 knots. By the time the rejected takeoff maneuver was initiated; the noticed airspeed was about 90 knots. In hindsight; I should have continued the takeoff.

Title: MD90 Captain reported experiencing an engine failure on the takeoff roll at 80 KTS so he initiated a rejected takeoff.
Narrative: During the takeoff I noticed a R ENG SYSTEM FAIL message on the overhead annunciator panel while approaching 80 knots. By the time the RTO maneuver was initiated; the noticed airspeed was about 90 knots. In hindsight; I should have continued the takeoff.
