Narrative:
Approximately 19 miles southeast of the field; we were cleared direct to hadan on a 270 heading to intercept the localizer to 36R; mem; a false localizer intercept occurred. Aircraft turned about 20 degrees to the right before heading was corrected back to hadan. We immediately reported this false localizer turn and correction to mem approach; and continued direct to hadan as cleared. Approach controller advised us this is a recurring problem with the ILS 36R. Possibly arm the localizer later.
