Narrative:
During takeoff roll I noticed #3 engine oil temperature slightly higher (5 degree) than #1 and #2, but steady. After takeoff #3 engine oil temperature started a steady climb. I made captain aware of it and we prepared to deal with an abnormality if it occurred. As the temperature climbed into yellow arc we completed appropriate checklist to no avail. The temperature continued to rise and we executed the engine shutdown checklist and the one engine inoperative checklist in their entirety. An uneventful landing was made to runway 4 at lga. Supplemental information from acn 107245. The entire evolution could have gone smoother if the captain had shared responsibilities with me. He insisted on flying the plane while backing up the second officer on the checklists.
