Narrative:

2 problems arose during the initial 20 mins of this flight. First, we departed VFR from enw. Mke approach issued us a clearance, IFR as filed to aid, radar vectors, south bend, as filed. Maintain 7000'. The controller never gave us a heading. After several minutes the controller challenged me and assigned a heading. We were starting to enter ord airspace. The controller should have given me a heading, or not cleared as filed. The second incident occurred when this same controller handed me off to chicago. The controller gave me the wrong frequency, and again challenged me. Both myself and the other pilot on board heard and wrote down the same frequency which mke gave to us. The controller then gave us the correct frequency in a rather surly attitude.
