Narrative:
Navigating by LORAN C from dekalb to gainesville. Contacted atl TCA while under outer edge prior to getting squawk. I thought I was cleared through bottom edge of TCA on climb to 11,500 to proceed VFR. There is confusion in ATC terminology and when nonstandard phrases are used, pilot thinks he was cleared for what he wants. ATC thinks they can abuse terminology and then bust a pilot.
