Narrative:
We lost our green system hydraulics on climb out. We immediately performed the ECAM actions and completed all required checklists. Departure control was informed of our situation and vectored us back to sju for landing. With the loss of the green system we were required to crank the landing gear and also nose wheel steering. The approach controller told the tower about our hydraulic problem but they did not understand that we would not have nose wheel steering for taxiing, therefore, we would need a tug to tow us clear and back to the gate. No emergency was declared because we felt is wasn't warranted. The tower controller was upset that we didn't notify them that we would be unable to taxi, considering there are only 2 or us, one to fly and one to complete the ECAM actions checklists we felt that was low priority.

NO EMER WAS DECLARED BECAUSE WE FELT IS WASN'T WARRANTED. THE TWR CTLR WAS UPSET THAT WE DIDN'T NOTIFY THEM THAT WE WOULD BE UNABLE TO TAXI, CONSIDERING THERE ARE ONLY 2 OR US, ONE TO FLY AND ONE TO COMPLETE THE ECAM ACTIONS CHKLISTS WE FELT THAT WAS LOW PRIORITY.
