Narrative:
We were cleared to cross vinta intersection at 10,000. Read appropriate chart and found vinta to be 036 degree radial 39 DME from tul. After flying several minutes I had it switched in my mind to be 039 degree radial 36 DME. Controller inquired our altitude and said we were over vinta at this time. Several factors enter into play: 1) mind was on personal family situation not on the business at hand. 2) 'standard' procedure from descent into tulsa has been to cross 30 DME out of tul at 10,000. 3) I should have reconstructed the appropriate chart and verified the intersection. 4) although I realize the responsibility is totally mine, it would have been helpful if the controller could have inquired earlier as to potential altitude conflict. 5) better cockpit resource management is in order.

Title: MISIDENTIFIED CROSSING RESTRICTION FIX. FAILED TO COMPLY WITH RESTRICTION ALT.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS VINTA INTXN AT 10,000. READ APPROPRIATE CHART AND FOUND VINTA TO BE 036 DEG RADIAL 39 DME FROM TUL. AFTER FLYING SEVERAL MINUTES I HAD IT SWITCHED IN MY MIND TO BE 039 DEG RADIAL 36 DME. CTLR INQUIRED OUR ALT AND SAID WE WERE OVER VINTA AT THIS TIME. SEVERAL FACTORS ENTER INTO PLAY: 1) MIND WAS ON PERSONAL FAMILY SITUATION NOT ON THE BUSINESS AT HAND. 2) 'STANDARD' PROC FROM DSCNT INTO TULSA HAS BEEN TO CROSS 30 DME OUT OF TUL AT 10,000. 3) I SHOULD HAVE RECONSTRUCTED THE APPROPRIATE CHART AND VERIFIED THE INTXN. 4) ALTHOUGH I REALIZE THE RESPONSIBILITY IS TOTALLY MINE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL IF THE CTLR COULD HAVE INQUIRED EARLIER AS TO POTENTIAL ALT CONFLICT. 5) BETTER COCKPIT RESOURCE MGMNT IS IN ORDER.
