Narrative:
We were on a 2-DAY trip with the first day consisting of 7 legs, with no breaks scheduled long enough to eat, which would of blocked us with a flight time of approximately 7:13 of flight time. Our show time was 1 hour before our first leg at about XA30 am local time and scheduled to arrive at our overnight station at about XB00 local. What turned out was totally different due to bad WX. We blocked 8.9 flight hours with most of that time being in instrument conditions and having to shoot instrument apches just about over where we went. By the time we arrived at our overnight it was approximately XC00 local. By the time we got to our hotel it was XC30. In our company, our off duty time is at when we shut down the engines. Also we're required to propeller tie, gear pin the airplane and panafax the aircraft log pages before we even leave for the hotel. How this can be considered rest is amazing. When we finally arrived at the hotel I went immediately to sleep. By morning when my alarm woke me I reset it a half hour skipping a shower to get more sleep. We could not wake our F/a and left without her to the airport. Our show time was supposed to be about XA10/20. We arrived at XA30. I must admit I looked pretty dishevelled since I skipped taking a shower and smelled since I just used a lot of cologne and also blood shot eyes due to fatigue. That and being late with no F/a didn't help. But to being accused of intoxication due to fatigue is scary. This would have been one of our better overnights if not for WX but the majority of our trips are scheduled as if the limitations of the far's on rest is a goal for productivity. We have trips consisting of 9 leg days, reduced rest that night, then an 8 leg day the next with no breaks in between in which to eat and both days consisting of at least 12 hours of duty time. There have been times when I have fallen asleep and it's my leg to fly. Now I am a hard worked if you let me sleep and eat but people can get killed with these far rest limitations. They must be changed and quickly otherwise companies like mine will take advantage of them. I propose no less than 10 hours on overnight periods. And that's when you check into your hotel. Also if it's a long duty day at least one break to eat without having to rush or get a cheap non-nutritious meal, no more reduced rest schedules, only far beyond crew's control such as WX.
