Narrative:
During climbout on cle 7 departure as we were climbing through 7500' VFR traffic was issued at 11 O'clock. At 8400 started left turn to intercept vwv 087 right. Passing 8500 center told us to maintain 8500. Then issued an immediate right turn to 330 degree. Aircraft topped out at 9100 and passed directly under a high wing single engine aircraft. Aircraft was not in contact with any controller at all. Quick action on center controller's part prevented a midair.
