Narrative:
During the boarding process there were a total of 6 customers that had more than the one carry-on and one personal item. I asked each customer for them to consolidate their bags or they were going to have to check one of them. All of them complied with the exception of one who stated he was a high profile frequent flyer and I will do it after I get to my seat as he walked passed me. At this point I was afraid to say anymore to him since he identified himself as one of our company's frequent flyers and knowing that all he had to do was write a letter to the company. I was in fear of receiving discipline from the company if he was to write a letter. In recurrent this year we are now being told that we are only to inform and not enforce when it comes to a violation. When I talked to the gate agent about the situation it was brought to my attention that they also are fear of loosing there jobs for enforcing the far and company policy if the customer writes a letter for being dissatisfied for checking their bag.
