Narrative:
I was working the vikky position at the ny TRACON. Traffic was light, but the position working the underlying airspace from me was extremely busy. I was watching aircraft going through my airspace via pointouts and working the aircraft to help alleviate the workload from the busier position. I was also working 2 la guardia arrivals, 15 mi in trail, established on the lga 075 degree right. This was my own traffic. The first aircraft was handed off and was switched to the la guardia controller. The second aircraft was not handed off, entered the next controller's airspace and was switched to his frequency. The la guardia controller, unaware of the second aircraft, was turning the first aircraft eastbound toward the second aircraft. I noticed this, then I noticed the second aircraft was still on my data tag. I called the la guardia controller to warn him and suggest action. The aircraft came within 1-2 mi.

Title: ACFT ENTERED ADJACENT AIRSPACE WITHOUT A HANDOFF RESULTING IN LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION WITH ANOTHER ACFT.
Narrative: I WAS WORKING THE VIKKY POSITION AT THE NY TRACON. TFC WAS LIGHT, BUT THE POSITION WORKING THE UNDERLYING AIRSPACE FROM ME WAS EXTREMELY BUSY. I WAS WATCHING ACFT GOING THROUGH MY AIRSPACE VIA POINTOUTS AND WORKING THE ACFT TO HELP ALLEVIATE THE WORKLOAD FROM THE BUSIER POSITION. I WAS ALSO WORKING 2 LA GUARDIA ARRIVALS, 15 MI IN TRAIL, ESTABLISHED ON THE LGA 075 DEG R. THIS WAS MY OWN TFC. THE FIRST ACFT WAS HANDED OFF AND WAS SWITCHED TO THE LA GUARDIA CTLR. THE SECOND ACFT WAS NOT HANDED OFF, ENTERED THE NEXT CTLR'S AIRSPACE AND WAS SWITCHED TO HIS FREQ. THE LA GUARDIA CTLR, UNAWARE OF THE SECOND ACFT, WAS TURNING THE FIRST ACFT EBND TOWARD THE SECOND ACFT. I NOTICED THIS, THEN I NOTICED THE SECOND ACFT WAS STILL ON MY DATA TAG. I CALLED THE LA GUARDIA CTLR TO WARN HIM AND SUGGEST ACTION. THE ACFT CAME WITHIN 1-2 MI.
