Narrative:
During short and soft field takeoff practice, we applied full power, acceleration proceeded normal. At 50 KTS it 'sagged' on power and slowed to 40 KTS and would not accelerate upon which we closed the throttle to idle and began braking. We were unable to get any braking effect due to dew-wet grass, and slid across a road hitting the ditch and bent the nose wheel and slightly bent the propeller. (One blade).
