Narrative:

Cleared to descend to 3000' by approach control. Read back 3000'. Upon level at 3000' and following vectors for approach, we were advised that clearance was to 5000'. Approach control indicated no problem with the misunderstood clearance.

Narrative: CLRED TO DSND TO 3000' BY APCH CTL. READ BACK 3000'. UPON LEVEL AT 3000' AND FOLLOWING VECTORS FOR APCH, WE WERE ADVISED THAT CLRNC WAS TO 5000'. APCH CTL INDICATED NO PROBLEM WITH THE MISUNDERSTOOD CLRNC.
