Narrative:
While on a dual instructional flight at 3500' MSL (2500' AGL), my student was in a left 30 degree bank 360 degree turn. We had previously cleared the area with standard 'south' clearing turns. As we completed the turn I noticed a small biplane in a steep left turn off to our right. Horizontal sep was adequate but I was interested in where he came from so quickly. I later learned that there is an acrobatic box there. It is not on the sectional and while listening to deer valley ATIS, (closest controled airport) on the way back, there was no mention of this 'box' or being 'hot'. Suggest that if there are these 'designated' acrobatic areas that they are put on the chart, and/or nearby ATIS.
