Narrative:
During takeoff I realized that I had forgotten to remove the gust lock. Had to abort the takeoff and exceeded the paved runway. The aircraft stopped just past the overrun area after going over a 3-4 foot embankment at about two miles per hour. The aircraft sustained a prop strike and damage to the leading edge of the right wing when the aircraft settled; as well as damage to the fiberglass nose gear covering. The aircraft was towed back to the hangar.
