Narrative:

Clearance to cross 20 east of etg at 220. Read back clearance. Prior to beginning descent, controller requested a speed reduction to 280 KIAS from 320 KIAS. We slowed and forgot to descend. 30 DME east of etg, the controller queried us if we were going to make the restriction. I replied 'probably not' and we began a rapid idle, speed brake descent. Unfortunately, we had FL200 set in the altitude alert window and in the haste and confusion, we didn't catch the error and leveled off at FL200 rather than FL220. The controller said remain at 200. I called the center on arrival at pit to apologize for our mistake and the supervisor said there was no conflict, no problem. Plain inattention. I didn't see the wrong altitude in the window even though we both had the proper clearance written down.

Title: ACR MLG ALT DEVIATION OVERSHOT DURING DESCENT.

Narrative: CLRNC TO CROSS 20 E OF ETG AT 220. READ BACK CLRNC. PRIOR TO BEGINNING DSCNT, CTLR REQUESTED A SPEED REDUCTION TO 280 KIAS FROM 320 KIAS. WE SLOWED AND FORGOT TO DSND. 30 DME E OF ETG, THE CTLR QUERIED US IF WE WERE GOING TO MAKE THE RESTRICTION. I REPLIED 'PROBABLY NOT' AND WE BEGAN A RAPID IDLE, SPEED BRAKE DSCNT. UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAD FL200 SET IN THE ALT ALERT WINDOW AND IN THE HASTE AND CONFUSION, WE DIDN'T CATCH THE ERROR AND LEVELED OFF AT FL200 RATHER THAN FL220. THE CTLR SAID REMAIN AT 200. I CALLED THE CENTER ON ARRIVAL AT PIT TO APOLOGIZE FOR OUR MISTAKE AND THE SUPVR SAID THERE WAS NO CONFLICT, NO PROBLEM. PLAIN INATTENTION. I DIDN'T SEE THE WRONG ALT IN THE WINDOW EVEN THOUGH WE BOTH HAD THE PROPER CLRNC WRITTEN DOWN.
