Narrative:
After takeoff from gillespie airport I tried to make a right turn for a downwind to clear the TCA. At this point the tower controller, rather than help in facilitate a frequency change for VFR advisories, challenged my understanding of TCA procedures in the san diego area. By the time I could get a frequency change, I believe I had penetrated the TCA. I believe this problem could be alleviated by better communications between the gillespie tower and pilots.
